This site has been created by the Tourist Board of La Somme, with its English advisers, to help visitors plan and organise their trips to the Somme
Historial de la Grande Guerre
The Historial is a museum deicated to social and military history, art and through ethnography. The diversity of the collections, 4 different virtual visits are offered, through architecture, daily life, imagination and the circuit of Remembrance.
The Somme Historical Centre
The newly opened Somme Historical Centre was founded by military historian and Osprey author Martin Pegler in response to the ever-growing interest shown by the public in the subject of the weapons and equipment of the Great War. Lecture topics are wide-ranging and include, among others: Tank Warfare; The Maxim Machine Gun; Infantry Small Arms; Trench Armour and The Sniping War. All lectures are illustrated and, uniquely, the weapons and equipment referred to are usually available for visitors to examine first hand.

Imperial War Museum
The Imperial War Museum is unique in its coverage of conflicts, especially those involving Britain and the Commonwealth, from the First World War to the present day. It seeks to provide for, and to encourage, the study and understanding of the history of modern war and how it affects our lives.
Their exhibits range from tanks and aircraft to photographs and personal letters; they include film and sound recordings, and some of the 20th century's best-known paintings.
Imperial War Museum: The Battle of the Somme
A number of key items from the Museum’s extensive First World War collection are readily available to the wider public for the first time in this unique online exhibition covering the battle itself, the stories of the people involved and the battlefields today.
To accompany the online exhibition, a selection of the key exhibits featured within the online exhibition are on display at Imperial War Museum London, alongside works by First World War artists who witnessed the battle or recorded its aftermath.

The Somme Heritage Centre
The centre commemorates the involvement of the 36th (Ulster) and 16th (Irish) Divisions in the Battle of the Somme, the 10th (Irish) Division in Gallipoli, Salonika and Palestine, and provides displays and information on the entire Irish contribution to the First World War. The centre promotes cross-community contact, mutual understanding, an appreciation of cultural diversity, and is a major visitor attraction.
