Return to previous page

Rank was indicated by bands of scarlet braid on the cuff-two on each arm for principal matrons, one for matrons. Sisters had one row of narrow scarlet piping on the right sleeve only. Large white metal `T's were worn at the points of the cape, and a special silver badge was suspended from a red ribbon with white central stripe . Note the blue-grey straw bonnet worn when off duty.
